Kertis Weatherby joined Marlon Blackwell Architects in the summer of 2014. Kertis had worked at James Dixon Architect in upstate New York for the previous 8 years, running projects from concept to completion. While there, he focused primarily on residential projects, completing projects in New York and Connecticut. Several of the designs executed for James Dixon Architect were recognized by the AIA of Eastern New York including the Pool Barn (2013) and the Bowne House Visitors Center (2010, unbuilt).
He is a LEED Accredited Professional specializing in Building Design and Construction with experience in the detailing and design of sustainable buildings.
While completing his Master’s thesis at Syracuse University School of Architecture, Kertis was honored to be selected as a teaching assistant for the first-year undergraduate design studios. His student work has been exhibited as part of a group show at the Urban Center Bookstore in New York, NY. His architectural interests function at the extreme scales of specific details for assembly to the broad capacity for architecture to create public space.
