Matthew Wilson

Matthew Wilson
Associate AIA

Education
Bachelor of Architecture, 2022
University of Arkansas

Matthew joined Marlon Blackwell Architects as an intern during the Summer of 2021 and continued to work for the office during his last semester of school before joining full-time
He recently received his undergraduate degree from the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, graduating at the top of his class, with the distinction of Salutatorian and Summa Cum Laude. As a student, he was also the recipient of the 2022 Senior Scholar award and the 2022 Edward Durrell Stone Medal for his work in studio.
While in school, he pursued a self-ambition to use the studio projects as design experiments. Looking at the meaning of specific forms for users, to testing new graphic languages to convey projects, his goal was to look at architecture through all aspects of the design process.
As a long time Arkansas resident, Matthew looks towards local context and the community to draw inspiration and to ground a building in its place. He looks to integrate projects into their site and their community, rather than creating a building that is place less.
