Meryati Johari Blackwell has been with Marlon Blackwell Architect since 1997. She was born and raised in Malaysia, and educated in the United States (University of Miami), England (Architectural Association) and Italy (Institutta Architecttura de Venezia). With over 20 years experience in architectural offices in Arkansas, Malaysia and Miami, she has worked with many project types such as churches and banks, a health center, office buildings, stadiums, libraries and university buildings, as well as residences, retail spaces and hotels. Her talents in design and expertise in the preparation of construction documents, code research, interior design and detailing as well as her ability to coordinate work with various consultants involved in a project are highly valued. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional with experience on several LEED projects and is currently the LEED project team leader for projects of varying levels of certification within the office.
During her tenure at Marlon Blackwell Architect, Meryati has been integrally involved in the realization of numerous noteworthy projects including the Keenan TowerHouse, Blessings Golf Clubhouse, the Fred and Mary Smith Razorback Golf Center, the Fulbright Building and the L-Stack Residence where she also served as the general contractor. Her administrative duties within the firm include financial management and contract writing and reviews.
